Country Home Kitchen Issue 2 Volume 1 March 19 2014 eBook Dennis Weaver

A home cook who was interested in learning the basics on how to make some different types of breads would appreciate this publishing. They could also benefit from the history of the item they are learning to make. Recipes are little forms of history that we take bites of everyday. I enjoyed discovering different ways to get optimal results from doing things differently and why it will work their way. I would of preferred a larger publishing. I would recommend this publication to other cooks who do not have a lot of experience in the kitchen but have the time to experiment and learn.

Country Home Kitchen Issue 2 Volume 1 March 19 2014 eBook Dennis Weaver Reviews

Not what I thought it was going to be.
Really great recipes very easy to follow. Had lots of variety. Would get it again
Great easy to follow recipes, always interesting to read and prepare new recipes. And family gets bored (including me) having the same foods prepared on a weekly basis. Excellent food pics too. worth reading.
I really don't remember buying this. I started reading it thinking it was a magazine. It is more of a catalogue with a couple of (misinformed) articles.
You will like the little stories at the beginning of the chapters. I liked the one on Scones and Fried Bread. I was confused in a restaurant when I ordered scones and got fried bread. Now I understand why. It is regional. I found the book fun. The recipes are different. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Try the Gandy Dancer Apple Cake. Lemon Pie. It sounds so good.
I am surprised by the negative reviews! I really liked this magazine. It has a great variety of recipes and ideas, and I also really enjoy the stories and explanations. If you don't want to buy the products offered just skip over them, don't see what the big deal is. I know from experience from having other of Dennis Weaver's books that the recipes WILL be good. I can see this being something I will use over and over.
It is so nice to have someone present a recipe that fits into the part of the country you live in. I live in Alabama and we are all about good food! However, a lot of the time, the recipes presented in magazines and on tv are aimed at other parts of the country and not anything that we would even start to eat, much less cook-and could not get the ingredients in our area. I really enjoyed reading the side stories of the railroad workers. My family tells how my husband's grandmother would make fried pies and put into her husband's lunch during World War ll. I really enjoy vintage recipes and look for old recipe books. This is great !
